The Festival Programme is by invitation only, there is no submission for international films.

DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival is organised by DocPoint -elokuvatapahtumat ry. The 18th edition of DocPoint will be held on January 28th – February 3rd 2019 in Helsinki. The festival is non-competitive.

The international programme is selected by invitation only, there is no open submission. The festival mainly presents recently released creative feature documentary films which have not been screened in Finland prior to the festival nor are available online. The international programme is curated and by invitation only and will focus on mid and feature length films.

In case the production country of your film is Finland, you are able to submit your film to our Finnish Premieres programme or New Finnish Visions Student Film Programme. Please read more information here.

In case you feel that our international programme team should really hear about your film, you can approach them by sending the following information in English to programme (at), though no later than October 10, 2018:

  • Name of your film in English and in the original language
  • Length
  • Name of director(s)
  • Production country + co-production countries
  • Completion year
  • Short synopsis (max 500 characters)
  • Please briefly tell us why your film is important and why the festival should take your film into consideration.

Please notice that the festival will respond only to those suggestions they are interested to know more about. The programme team won’t comment on the films or give feedback during the programming process.
