In Poland the Jewish culture once lost shifted as a memory from one generation to another.
Oliwia and Jerem Tonteri’s The Blackouts is an essay that tells the story of a family moving from Finland to Poland in search of their roots. Living in Warsaw, they face the hustle and bustle of a city scorched by its tragic past.
The Blackouts shows the family’s broken memories. A child losing her culture since moving to another country. A family with lost Jewish traditions between generations. A city demolished in the Second World War.
They all miss something. There is a hole in their memory.
