The Wild Swans

Swan Lake is given a completely new rendering by grown men in tutus in Laura Mendelin’s debut short film, The Wild Swans. Dance takes the old ballet geezers from the city of Oulu in Northern Finland to Russia, where the retired gentlemen captivate the crowd of a small town potato festival.

The Wild Swans must be one of the most endearing and sympathetic Finnish short films of the year. It captures the friendship between the old men, the joy they find in dance, and their courage to be themselves. Good mood guarantee!
